Poxel aims at developing innovative compounds in the area of metabolic diseases, with a primary focus on type 2 diabetes.

Poxel is a  Royalty Income PharmaceuticalCompany (RIPCO) that aims at developing innovative and first-in-class drugs from preclinical to phase II clinical proof of concept.

The company develops products that have an innovative and disease modifying mechanism of action, a combined activity on glucose metabolism and other cardiovascular risk factors (lipid disorders and obesity), as well as an improved safety profile compared to currently available therapies. Products developed by Poxel target all type 2 diabetic patients treated for monotherapy as well as add-on solutions.

The Company portfolio is composed of one compound and five projects centered on the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Poxel’s lead product, Imeglimin, is in clinical phase II study for type 2 diabetes indication. Other products in the pipeline are in lead optimization, and some are until close to preclinical development stages.
