Poxel develops products that have an innovative and disease modifying mechanism of action, and an improved safety profile compared to currently available therapies.

Products developed by Poxel will be prescribed throughout the life of the patients, at each step of the disease. They will thus encounter the relevant current therapeutic alternatives as competitors.

Although a large choice of therapeutic alternatives for type 2 diabetes exists, from oral antidiabetics to various forms of injectable insulin, they can’t match the satisfaction of both physicians and patients. Only 7% of diabetic patients currently achieve their target goals for blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure. Moreover, current available treatments, including gold standards, are associated with adverse effects, such as weight gain and hypoglycemia, as observed with sulfonylureas, PPAR agonists and insulin.
